I was reviewing what was going on this upcoming weekend and saw that March 21-22 and 28-29 seems to be the weekend to enjoy many of the areas local Maple producers…

Vinewood Acres Sugar Shack in Westfield has tours, tastings and pancake meals from 8 am until 2 pm on the 21st.  Reservations are advised.  Please call 326-3351 for more details

The Maple Glen Sugar House in Gowandawill be giving away free samples of all maple products.  They plan on having horse-drawn wagon rides 11 am-4pm (weather permitting), tours, demonstrations and an all you can eat pancake meal at the Gowanda Fire Department.  This is both weekends from 10 am until 4 pm.  Call 532-5483 for more details. 

Indian Acres Maple Farm in Darien plans on having pancakes and demonstrations.  This is both weekends, call 585-547-3557 for more details.

Maple Grove Farms in Holley and Flyway Farm in Medina are hosting Maple Weekend in Orleans County both weekends also.  Demonstrations, tours, tastings and sales are available from 10 am until 4 pm.  Maple grove Farms can be reached at 585-638-6245, Flyway Farm can be reached at 585-798-0751

Beaver Meadow Audubon Center in North Java is having a Maple Harvest Festival on March 21st and 22nd.  There will be demonstrations, crafts, dames and walks.  Contact 585-457-3228 for more details.

Shelby Fire Hall in Medina will be having an All you can eat hungry man breakfast on March 22nd from 7 am until 2 pm.  Call 585-798-2667 for more details. 

There will also be a Maple Sugaring 101 presentation at Evangola State Park in Brandt.  Pre-registration is required by calling 826-8895…

I saw this on WKBW’s site and thought it would be an awesome thing if we could get the national attention to show what a great community we are!!

Do you know a hometown hero who deserves a visit from Ty Pennington and the “Extreme Home Makeover” crew? If so, the show wants to hear from Western New Yorkers like you! Producers are looking for local families who make a difference in the community and the lives of others, families whose homes are in desperate need of renovation or rebuilding.
