About

Niagara Rises is a grass roots organization of concerned Niagara Falls citizens.   We recognize that 50,000 people have left Niagara Falls and we hear those that have left “what has happened to Niagara Falls”.

We recognize that we can not look to the past and say any longer “we miss the good old days”.  They are gone, we are left with what is.   Inspired, we are doing what we believe in.  We are painting a picture of the future and we are heading there.   If you want to join us, come on along…

Complainers, Negative Nellies and those stuck in the past be warned, what you find here may just change your mind about the future of Niagara Falls.   Don’t like it, then get involved and be part of the change in Niagara Falls!   Check the sidebar for the next meeting.

I am unfortunately one of those 50,000 that left. I miss Niagara Falls, and hope that it does rise from the past to become great again. I still have family in Niagara Falls, and would love to move back. It was a great place to grow up.

The same reason I haven’t moved back is the same reason most leave in the first place….it’s all about jobs. 40+ years of “Urban renewal” has done nothing to create jobs in Niagara Falls. Drawing businesses to the area, and creating jobs should be priority #1 for Niagara County’s leadership.

One thing that would help bring former Niagara residents back to the area is jobs. I have explored this site, and love the idea of Niagara rising, and look forward toit. My suggestion for this site would be to create a “Help wanted” section - a job board where employers could post open positions (for free or cheap) that might attract qualified candidates who are former Niagara Falls residents. Another suggestion would be a place for former Niagara area residents that want to move back to post their resumes for local employers to search.
